| Notable Info Canyon Lake Dam at the beginning of the route, is 6830 long and towers 215 feet over the roadway. The concrete-reinforced earthen dam retains an estimated 123,200,000 gallons of water within Canyon Lake's 92-mile shoreline perimeter. This picturesque drive is best with water flow at the Sattler gauge reading between 300 and 500cfs, but the tree-covered river-side drive is scenic even when the water is hardly moving. The River Road drive may be closed depending upon local conditions, particularly when the Sattler gauge is reading above 700cfs or the road is being serviced post-flood. |
